Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 23, 2026

FrameCut processes selected videos and generated files locally on your device. Your videos are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.

FrameCut ("we," "our," or "the app") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use FrameCut, an app that converts videos you select into GIF or animated WebP files.

1. Local Video Processing

  • Videos you select in FrameCut are processed entirely on your device to create GIF or animated WebP files.
  • Your original video files are never uploaded to FrameCut's developer servers.
  • Generated GIF or WebP files are not stored on FrameCut's servers — they are saved to your device or shared using the option you choose.
  • FrameCut requests access to your photo library or files only so you can select a video and save the converted result. This access is not used to read, upload, or analyze your media for any other purpose.

2. Information Processed by Third-Party Services

To keep FrameCut free, stable, and improving over time, we use a small number of third-party services. These services may process limited technical and usage information as described below. None of these services receive the videos you convert or their contents.

Google Analytics for Firebase

Purpose: understanding app usage, analyzing feature engagement, and improving the app.

Data that may be processed includes:

  • App instance / installation identifiers
  • Device and operating system information
  • App version
  • App interaction and usage events
  • General device, language, and region information

FrameCut does not send your video files or their contents to Google Analytics.

Firebase Crashlytics

Purpose: diagnosing crashes and errors, and improving app stability.

Information that may be processed includes:

  • Crash stack traces
  • Device information
  • Operating system version
  • App version
  • Diagnostic information
  • Crashlytics installation identifiers

Your video files or their contents are not sent to Crashlytics.

Google AdMob

FrameCut uses Google AdMob to display ads that help keep the app free.

AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process:

  • IP address
  • Device and app identifiers
  • Advertising-related identifiers, where permitted by your device settings
  • Diagnostic and performance data
  • Approximate location inferred from your IP address
  • Ad interaction information, such as impressions and clicks

Depending on your region and consent status, you may be shown personalized or non-personalized ads.

3. Advertising and Privacy Choices

  • In regions where required by law, FrameCut provides choices related to advertising and data processing, such as a consent prompt shown when the app is first opened.
  • You can review or change these choices at any time from Settings → Privacy Choices within the app.
  • On iOS, where applicable, FrameCut requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any tracking-related data is used for advertising across other companies' apps and websites. You can allow or deny this request, and change your choice at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Declining tracking permission does not limit your ability to use FrameCut's core features, including video-to-GIF/WebP conversion.

4. Feedback

FrameCut includes a "Send Feedback to Developer" feature that lets you voluntarily share comments, bug reports, or suggestions.

Information that may be included:

  • Your feedback message
  • The feedback category you select
  • Your email address, if you choose to provide one
TODO: Confirm how feedback is delivered in the current app build. If feedback is sent through your device's email app (mailto), FrameCut's developer does not store this feedback on FrameCut's own servers, and your email provider's own privacy policy applies to the message. Review and finalize this section once the feedback flow is confirmed.

5. Data Retention

FrameCut does not require you to create an account, and does not store your video files on developer-operated servers.

Data processed by Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob is retained according to each provider's own retention policies, which may differ from FrameCut's own practices.

6. Third-Party Services

For more information about how these providers process data, see their official privacy resources:

FrameCut is not designed or directed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through FrameCut, please contact us using the information below so we can address it appropriately under the laws that apply in your country or region.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
